Aldergrove rivals Mali’s carbon dioxide emissions!

The story is also covered elsewhere in the NI blogosphere but it’s too good a story to miss.

The World Development Movement claim that Belfast International Airport releases as much carbon dioxide into the atmosphere each year as Mali!

(They took the overall aviation carbon dioxide estimate for the UK, divided it by passenger figures at each airport, and then compared it to the estimates for the 15 poorest countries in the world as ranked by the UN).

Now just to work out which town or city my carbon footprint can be measured against!
